In 2021, Hang Tough undertook its first ‘Rising’ group show to coincide with Culture Night Dublin, resulting in a dynamic and eclectic mix of original works from skilled, emerging painters. In establishing the ‘Rising’ initiative, our goal is to provide a nurturing platform for young, burgeoning artists to share and promote their work with a keen and engaged audience, while simultaneously offering the public a glimpse into their individual style and practice.
We profiled each of the artists through a series of discussions and interviews, delving into their creative practice and continued artistic development, serving to enhance the experience of the paintings. Through the exhibition in our Lennox Street studio and the enthusiastic proliferation of social media, each of the artist’s talents were able to reach a large and diverse audience, and we look forward to inviting a new host of ‘Rising’ artists to exhibit with us later in 2022. Through ‘Rising’, we hope to cultivate a community of young artists who will encourage, inspire and challenge one another throughout their careers.
