The ideas and inspiration for this new body of work was conceived while Staines was isolating during lock down. It portrays the rollercoaster of emotions that came with being isolated from the rest of the world. It unravels the excruciating never ending days that stretched on and on to the mindless, never ending sessions spent doom-scrolling through social media. In this work, Staines has captured the boredom, fear and uncertainty that has plagued us all. ‘Isolation’ x Niall Staines will be hosted in Hang Tough Contemporary, Exchequer St and guests will be invited to book to attend the launch event via Eventbrite. Mask wearing will be enforced.
